plugging my UK laptop in around the world

My toughbook's ACDC adaptor says 100-240V

i'm looking to plug it in in Israel

The UK 3 pin plug doesn't fit the israeli one but I can get a simple adaptor for that.

Am I right in thinking that if it fits then fine..the laptop will get the right volts and will be fine?

I don't think there are any power systems around the world that's outside of the 100-240V range (that being the whole point).

You'll just need an adaptor for the weird Israeli plug and you're away and rocking.

I have said this before, but I really like the IBM Lenovo AC/DC Combo Adaptor Model 22P9003! I originally got the idea from Capt. Dogfish. It is 72 Watts, with an AC input of 100-240V / 50-60 HZ or DC input of 13-18VDC. The output is a nice, Toughbook friendly, 16V 4.5A(Voltage/Current) and is great for when you are running the Toughbook out of the car!

It will fit the CF-29, CF-50 and others. I really like the idea of just one power brick. I scored a brand new, from the USA, one on eBay for $15 and free shipping. Many are sold without the DC cord, so pay close attention when shopping.

Here is the kit I out together out of an International Plug kit at my local Thrift Shop. I think that I paid $4. The DC Car cable is at the bottom and I also carry a USB extender for that problematic occluded side USB on the CF-29. This will allow me to power most anywhere. I am still looking for the power adapter cable used with the outlet on aircraft seats.

@ Azrial If your IBM adapter has the same DC cable as mine the backside of the cigarette plug comes apart and is an airline plug.

Just do this:

That's what I would do at least...

And you're worried about what AC adapters you use? I hope you have a good fire department and wear rubber gloves and only rubber soled shoes

I will try and explain this in non-technical terms that most here can understand.

As I am sure that we can all agree, it is a well known fact that electricity can smell fear. As long as you show it you are the boss and will not be intimidated, I think that you will be OK.

Sometimes if it is being particularly vexing I will recite Ohm's Law as a kind of incantation and to demonstrate my superior knowledge of its essence. I find this as a particularly effective means of putting it in its place.

YMMV....
